Jimmy Dean Biscuit Sausage, Egg & Cheese Review

On this week’s Midnight Snack, we’re taking a look at another Jimmy Dean breakfast product, this time even easier to make than the last one that was on an English muffin. The Jimmy Dean biscuit with sausage, egg and cheese came in a box of 12 from my local Sam’s Club.

Look at that monster:

The cooking instructions were very straightforward, with the “Heat Fresh” pouch that made cooking these things a breeze.

The sandwich came in their “Heat Fresh” packaging, making it really easy to cook in 90 seconds. I didn’t need to mess with the microwave and try to figure out how to turn the power down to 30 again, so I got that goin for me:

Jimmy, Heat Fresh!

There was definitely less room for groggy operator error this time around:

If those don’t make ya dizzy I don’t know what will.

After the sandwich enjoyed getting warmed up for 90 seconds, the plastic around it sort of inflated to being like a bubble:

After. Yea, our microwave is dirty. Come at me.

Getting it open was a breeze, too. Once in a while, a person comes across that near-impossible to open frozen thing and it’s just like, c’mon.

It didn’t put up much of a fight.

Solid landing.

There’s something about a biscuit that just feels like home. A flaky, flaky home. Let’s take a look at that Heat Fresh packaging here real quick:

Pretty simple. The product was certainly hot.

The Review

There’s a lot of sausage, egg and cheese biscuits out there these days. Some are good, some are eh. Most are kinda okay. When it comes to Jimmy Dean’s, I mean, just look at the face I made after the first bite:

Alright, maybe I hadn’t really reacted yet. What I’ll say, though, is that it was good. It had all the right stuff that a breakfast sandwich should have, only took 90 seconds, and would be really hard to screw up while groggy and starving late in the evening.

The sausage was acceptable.

Since I ended up with 12 of these, it’s probably fair to say that I’ll be finishing them. Or, I’ll cook everything at once and make a giant sandwich to give my heart a workout. That cheese did coagulate a little bit (as evidenced by the picture above) but all in all, it’s a quality breakfast item.
