A Little History on Goetz Credit Union

Goetz has been around since 1937. Other than the year of being chartered, not much else is mentioned about their history on the website. According to their NCUA profile, their assets are just about $85 million dollars.

It looks like their only ATM is at their main location, which is a bummer. The typical credit union in Missouri (and ones with even fewer members) is involved with the CO-OP network, making their cash available at over 30,000 locations. Unfortunately, not the case here.

Do They Give Back At All?

It does not look like they are involved with any charitable efforts. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, though, and say that maybe they do actually give back but they just don’t talk about it.

Membership Requirements

They don’t mention on their site what the membership requirements are to join. I’m a little surprised by this, but, I guess that’s that. Typically, credit unions will say that you need to either live, work, or be related to people in a certain area in order to join. That or work for some company that will get you in by association.

Their Products

From the looks of it, there are no business products at Goetz Credit Union. That being said, their website is pretty slim when it comes to details on their products. Based on their site, though, it looks like personal products only.

You can choose from Checking accounts, Savings accounts, Christmas Savings, and IRAs. There are also a few loan products, like new/used autos, motorcycle/lawn equipment, RVs/Boats, consumer loans, home loans, refinancing, and mobile homes.

Goetz Credit Union – Final Thoughts

This is a decent looking, local Missouri CU that you could check out if you live nearby. I imagine that their field of membership is fairly limited to those within a few miles of the main office. Their product offerings are fairly limited to basic personal ones with no business options. Their rates are competitive if the “Match Rates” are their lowest, although, I had some trouble understanding their tables.
