A Little History on Central Missouri Community Credit Union

CMCCU has been around since 1961. They were originally started for people in the education community, but, now their field of membership is a lot wider. Today, they have assets of nearly $130 million according to their NCUA profile.

You can access cash from Central Missouri Community Credit Union at over 30,000 ATMs nationwide because of their involvement in the CO-OP network.

Do They Give Back at All?

It looks like they do give back, however, there isn’t anything that I could find that was written. There’s a page here with a handful of pictures of people from Central Missouri Community Credit Union helping out in the community.

Although, in some of the pictures it also looks like they’re just doing fun stuff like bowling. There is a donation request form here that mentions that they support a lot of communities where their members live.

Membership Requirements

If you want to become a member at Central Missouri Community Credit Union, you’ll need to meet some requirements. They serve anyone working or residing in Johnson, Pettis, Ray, Carroll, Lafayette, and Henry counties, the city of Excelsior Springs; and their families.

There are also a handful of other counties and ways to get in for all ages that you can check out here on their site.

Their Products at Central Missouri Community Credit Union

They have a pretty decent selection of products at CMCCU. There are the usual ones you’d find at a bank or credit union like checking accounts, savings, and loan products.

It does look like they are missing a few here and there though. There’s no Health Savings Accounts or Business savings accounts, I usually see those at most credit unions out there.

They do have a variety of different personal savings accounts and investments, though. There’s the Savings Share Account, the Vacation Account, the Christmas Club Account, the Kirby Kangaroo Club Account, the Individual Retirement Account, and Share Certificates. You can find something for all ages!

Loan products include personal loans, home equity lines of credit, new/used autos, recreational vehicles, furniture, and appliance loans.

One interesting additional service that they offer is something called “Mechanical Breadown Protection” for your car. Basically, it’s an extended warranty for your car (mechanical or electrical failures) and other perks like 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. I think that’s pretty neat.

Central Missouri Community Credit Union – Final Thoughts

CMCCU is a good looking small to mid-size Missouri credit union. There are probably better credit unions to look for when it comes to business products or if you need an HSA. That being said, they are competitive in terms of all of their other personal products and rates.

They even have some unique products like the extended car warranties and others that set them apart from other CUs. It also looks like they give back in ways like donations and volunteering at food shelves (based on the pictures).

Do you have a review on this CU that you want to add? Leave it below. We just need your email address in case they ask us for it so they can reach out to you for any reason.
