DescriptionGeorgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Senior Financial/Costing Analyst to join the Packaging and Cellulose Manufacturing Product Costing and Analysis team. As a member of this team, you will serve as a subject matter expert around the manufactured product costing within the Packaging and Cellulose Controllers Organization.You will create value for the company by: Building and maintaining timely and accurate product costing standards using third party managed productsReviewing and understanding the actual cost flows of these productsIdentifying product category leaders, to enable strategic decision making and ensure the effectiveness of our operations, manufactured finished products.Reviewing and understanding the actual cost flows of these products, executing the month-end closing steps for our manufacturing locationsCollaborating with the rest of the FP&A organization, operations leadership, and the product category leaders to enable strategic decision making and ensure the effectiveness of our manufacturing operations. Our corporate HQ is in Atlanta, GA and we are considering REMOTE candidates! Travel to GP HQ and supported locations (including overnight stays) may be required for training and onboarding and to meet priority business demands.The ideal candidate should have an understanding of financial and manufacturing cost analysis concepts, attention to detail, comfort working with large sets of data, demonstrated initiative, a natural curiosity, effective communication skills, and possess a transformation mindset. What You Will Do In Your RoleObtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations, externally procured and co-manufactured products and their impact on financial performance. This will include:Exposure to manufacturing processesLearning product costing concepts and key financial processesNetworking with operations and other finance teamsDevelop and maintain product cost standards for our manufacturing locations and marketing entities.Perform the Product Costing Team’s role within mill financial and monthly closing processesReview actual variances from standard and adjust where neededProvide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reportingSeek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutionsCreate, review, and update product cost standards for contract manufactured productsIdentify key business trends through benchmarking, KPI tracking and analysis =Provide key insights to Business Finance team to support decision makingBuild visualization that supports the required knowledge for business decisionsDrive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automationSupport process improvements for financial systems and reportingDevelop training materials and content for analytical enabling tools Support consolidated/consistent reporting; minimize waste by leveraging data and toolsImprove efficiency in getting information to business and capability tea
