Moser Roth 70% Dark Chocolate From Aldi Review

Moser Roth 70% Dark Chocolate from Aldi is on my plate today. I’ll take a bite of it, maybe even two, so I can let you know whether it’s worth buying next time you shop there. I’ve done their higher cocoa version before that has 85% and I thought that one was pretty good.

Dark chocolate actually has a lot of health benefits. At least that’s what I always hear about it. We’ll go over the entire nutrition facts, but, I do know that it usually has quite a bit of iron content in it.

Plus, it just tastes good. Aldi also sells it for a reasonable amount of money – $1.99 to get a super bar that contains a few mini bars of it. Frankly, I like it being done that way since I only ever eat the amount in 1 little one anyway.

I don’t think it says “super bar” anywhere on the packaging, but, whateva. These Moser Roth 70% Dark Chocolate bars would probably be really good to have with a s’more if you feel like changing things up from a Hershey bar once in a while.

Nutrition Facts For Moser Roth 70% Dark

With all this talk about how healthy it is, let’s actually look at the nutrition facts and see what’s happening there.

Moser Roth 70% Dark nutrition facts

Taking it from the top: one of these big bars contains 5 little ones. It’s not so much a big bar as much as just being in the shape of a big bar. There’s 150 calories in each little one. That’s a little less than the 85% one with 160 calories.

You’ll be seeing 13% of your daily value of fat in this. There’s 30% of your daily value of saturated fat within that. The Moser Roth 70% dark bar has no cholesterol or sodium in it. I feel like some dark chocolate definitely has salt in it sometimes, not this one though.

There’s a small amount of carbs in this – the price you pay for having that sugar in there. You also get 3 grams of your daily fiber, which is nice. This Moser Roth 70% dark bar also has 2 grams of protein. Better than nothing!

There’s not quite as much iron but still a lot at 15% of your daily value.

You’ll be getting some semi-sweet chocolate in this Moser Roth 70% Dark bar. That includes chocolate, sugar, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, and vanilla powder. It may also have soy, milk, hazelnuts, and other nut products in it. Basically, if you have a nut allergy, this might not be for you.

I ate one of these as a standalone snack during the day today. Didn’t mix it with anything, didn’t even drink water with it. Personally, I’ve gotten so used to the 85% version that this one seemed like a regular Hershey bar. It did taste good, no complaints or anything about it. The higher cocoa percentage ones are more waxy tasting than anything, although, I actually like that a lot.

Pick some of these up next time you’re heading to the lake for s’mores. They’ll be a good sub for the usual Hershey’s.
